After officially introducing its new iPhone at today’s press event, we now have details on pricing and availability for the device from Apple.
The smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will cost $199 $299 $399 for 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, while the iPhone 6 Plus will cost $299/$399/$499 for the same storage options. That pricing is of course on the usual two-year contract through a carrier. This time around Apple has dropped a 32GB option from the iPhone lineup, offering customers big incentive to spend an extra $100 to jump up from a 16GB model to a 64GB iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Both devices come in the same silver, gold, and space gray color options as the previous generation iPhone 5s.
While there was some speculation leading up to today’s event that the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus would ship at a later date than the iPhone 6, Apple announced today that both devices will ship on September 19 in the US, France, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan. Preorders kick off on September 12 and Apple plans to bring the new iPhones to 115 counties by end of the year.
