Zack Snyder shares a new image of Superman’s resurrection in Justice League. Zack Snyder is still credited as the director on Justice League, but a lot of his ideas were removed from the final cut after Joss Whedon took over directing duties for Warner Bros. Fans have been begging for the studio to release a Snyder cut of Justice League, which would have shown Superman’s return in a very different way.
While fans want the Snyder cut, the director wants it as well. Ever since the release of Justice League, Snyder has released several photos from scenes that were cut from his version of the film. Snyder has continually kept fans asking for the Snyder cut through images of Darkseid, the reveal of Martian Manhunter, and BTS shots of the Justice League members. Snyder has also released quite a few photos of the Man of Steel himself, including an image of Superman in his black suit, which debuted in the ’90s, as well as an image of Clark returning to Kansas. Needless to say, a lot of Snyder’s vision is missing from the final film, including the scene pictured below.
Snyder recently posted a photo on Vero showing the Flash pushing Superman’s coffin past one of Superman’s suits. Superman was resurrected in Justice League using the water in the Kryptonian ship, a Mother Box, and an electrical current from the Flash. Superman’s resurrection was a rather short scene, but Snyder has pointed out more than once that his resurrection was much more significant in his vision.
With each new post from Snyder, fans want the Snyder Cut more and more. Several of the cast and crew members on Justice League have supported the Snyder cut movement, but Warner Bros. currently has no plans to release it. Henry Cavill was quiet about the Snyder cut for the longest time but recently commented in an interview that he hasn’t seen the Snyder cut and is much more interested in trying to get Man of Steel 2 made.
Snyder may never stop posting images from his version of Justice League. The image above gives yet another glimpse of how different Superman’s resurrection was in the final cut of the film. In the comics, Superman was resurrected using a Kryptonian regeneration matrix, which he emerged from wearing a black suit. Snyder’s vision seems to have been on par with the source material, but Whedon and Warner Bros. decided to go in a different direction. Snyder’s ideas for Superman’s resurrection in Justice League would certainly be a part of the Snyder Cut, but it’s unknown when (and if) it will ever be released.
