A contest is underway for the best fan poster for the increasingly hyped Snyder Cut of Justice League. Public interest in Justice League’s Snyder Cut has steadily risen as more information has come out regarding the changes implemented on the movie during its notorious reshoots. The closing months of 2019 would see the topic simply explode, with a steady stream of cast and crew members coming forward to publicly support its release, with the movie’s two-year anniversary marking an especially massive turning point with cast members Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot supporting the Snyder Cut on social media.

The rise in popular demand for the Snyder Cut’s release can be attributed significantly to Zack Snyder’s own social media teases, with the director himself repeatedly highlighting just how drastically different the two versions of Justice League are. Additionally, Jason Momoa has been a particularly vocal voice among the cast in endorsing the Snyder Cut’s release. Momoa’s confirmation of having actually seen Snyder’s version of Justice League himself last year would lead to a snowball effect of rising media attention and overall mainstream interest in the Snyder Cut throughout the remainder of 2019 and into 2020.

In Snyder’s latest post on Vero, the director has announced a competition for fans to create their own posters for his version of Justice League. The winner will be selected on the basis of, in Snyder’s words, “the artist that best captures the spirit of the movie.” Additionally, the prize will include a piece of Justice League memorabilia from Snyder himself. Furthermore, the official Twitter account for the competition lay out the rules of submission. Entries will be accepted until February 7th, with the winner to be announced on February 14th. The date of the winner’s announcement is also a clear play on the 214 minute running time of Snyder’s version of Justice League. Check out the rules and original post below:

A similar competition was previously held in 2018 to find references in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, given just how much public interest in the Snyder Cut of Justice League has grown in the past few months, this latest contest is bound to draw significant attention and a large number of entries, and the latest example of a sort-of re-branding Snyder has given to the movie. Specifically, the director recently released a new T-shirt and hoodie through Ink to the People, which re-titles the movie “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” The new attire released by Snyder is part of the Snyder Cut campaign’s ongoing donations to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. With Snyder having left Justice League after the tragic loss of his daughter, these donations have become a core element of the activities in the campaign for the Snyder Cut, with donations to date having surpassed $156,000.

As the spotlight continues to shine on the Snyder Cut, where the campaign for it ultimately lands is still waiting to be seen. However, it is clear that few filmmakers have such a direct and friendly relationship with their own fan base as is the case for Snyder. With demand for Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League continuing to be on the rise, it will certainly be fascinating to see the varying poster designs for his unseen version of the superhero ensemble fans will inevitably come up with.
