Character 3 - Parabellum offers enough dynamic set pieces and dazzling fight choreography to offset its flaws as a continuation of John Wick’s story. For many, 2014’s John Wick was a breath of fresh air that combined stylishly brutal action with comic book-esque worldbuilding to great effect, rescusitating Keanu Reeves’ action movie career in the process. 2017’s John Wick: Chapter 2 doubled-down on these elements and earned far larger box office returns for its efforts, in turn assuring that John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (to use its full title) would come to pass....

Joker is named one of the American Film Institute’s top 10 movies of 2019. The film held its world premiere during the Venice Film Festival back in August, where it first emerged as a viable awards player. In a surprising development, Joker took home Venice’s coveted Golden Lion award, which was previously won by Best Picture contenders The Shape of Water and Roma. Since then, some are predicting Joker will be a factor in the coming Oscar race, particularly Joaquin Phoenix in the Best Actor category....

Just when you thought it was safe to go camping, a Jurassic World short called Battle at Big Rock has arrived to show just how much the world has changed since the ending of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - and sets up a fascinating world for Jurassic World 3 to explore. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Battle at Big Rock stars André Holland and Natalie Martinez as a couple who take their three children on a camping trip in Big Rock National Park, only for their campground to be rudely invaded by dinosaurs....

The prize for the Justice League Snyder Cut fan poster contest brings with it significant implications for certain characters in the movie. Snyder announced the contest back in January, with over 1,200 submissions being entered. With Snyder having narrowed the competition down to four finalists, his new revelation of the prize itself may be the biggest bomb he’s ever dropped in his social media teases. The prize is the slate used on the set of Justice League, which also features a message from Snyder that the winner will be granted entry to any additional photography on the film “in the unlikely and purely speculative event that such photography is needed....

Alongside the iOS 14, Apple released the iPadOS 14 at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference on 22nd June. Although there was no live audience to cheer this news, yet the feature list has plenty to cheer in itself. Although most of the features are based on the iPhone’s latest OS, there are some iPad exclusive ones as well. Add to it a few macOS visual updates as well, and the update looks far more polished than ever before....

The Washington Post is reporting that TMobile will carry the iPhone in Germany on November 1st. This is big news for a couple of reasons. It means that Apple is probably going with the “National Carriers” AT&T in the US (used to be a monopoly), Tmobile is Deutsche Telekom – the former government telecom. So from this we can likely assume that Vodafone (or more likely O2) in the UK and Orange in France will also be exclusive iPhone carriers...

Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will feature welcomed battery improvements over the iPhone 5s. The battery sizes will differ between the two models… The iPhone 6 will feature up to 50 hours of audio playback, 11 hours of video playback and Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of LTE browsing and 3G browsing, 14 hours or 3G talk time, and 10 days of standby time. The iPhone 6 Plus features a massive 80 hours of audio playback, 14 hours of video playback, 12 hours of Wi-Fi, LTE, and 3G browsing, 24 hours of 3G talk time, and 16 days of standby time....

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are Apple’s newest handsets introduced during its first event at the new Steve Jobs Theater at its also new Apple Park campus last week. But you can’t possibly consider the new phones without noting that Apple this year is breaking from tradition and launching a third flagship model that is radically different than the 8 and 8 Plus. There has been a mix of good and bad news for Apple in China of late. Canalys relegated Apple to the ‘Others’ category after strong sales by local brands, but Apple’s own numbers show the market to be as big as Europe. Apple is currently expected to hold an event in March to announce a slew of new products, notably including a new addition to the iPhone lineup. The Apple Fitness+ service launched in December, giving Apple Watch users a new way to workout using pre-recorded digital classes. A new story from Men’s Health today offers a rare look behind the scenes at Apple’s “next-generation” studio where Fitness+ workouts are recorded. Back at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, JBL took the wraps off of its first CarPlay-capable aftermarket head unit, the Legend CP100. At the time, the company teased only that it would be “coming soon,” but now we have an official release date. The Legend CP100 head unit will be available starting February 14 for $399 via JBL’s website. The JBL Legend CP100 features a 6.75-inch capacitive touchscreen, which is not bad at all for the price....

Just like Verizon, T-Mobile has chosen to side with Samsung in its fight against Apple reports Foss Patents. T-Mobile’s reason, in response to a preliminary injunction proposed by Apple, is that they don’t want key 4G devices to be banned for the holiday season. Justin Long, the actor who played the Mac in the highly successful and long-running ‘Get a Mac’ ad campaign, is now appearing in an ad for the Chinese Android smartphone maker Huawei. Huawei’s ad agency told Campaign that Long’s starring role in the Apple ads was the main reason Huawei chose him. The ‘Get a Mac’ ad campaign, which launched ten years ago, featured Long as a Mac while John Hodgman played the Windows PC....

Keanu Reeves is the latest celebrity to make his way over to Hideo Kojima’s studio, Kojima Productions, in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Kojima is well known among gamers as the mind behind the Metal Gear Solid series as well as PS4’s upcoming exclusive, Death Stranding.
