A Justice League production designer recently expressed his frustrations over how a concept design for an Apokolips pilot for the film didn’t get used. We haven’t heard hardly any rumors about Apple Pencil support arriving with this year’s iPhones but one case manufacturer has created a sketchy listing for an iPhone 11 Pro case with an Apple Pencil slot on the back. Olixar has listed its iPhone 11 Pro Case on UK retailer MobileFun’s website. The case is up for pre-order for £20 and includes just one image of the product showing off storage for a miniaturized Apple Pencil....

Numerous, the number tracking app for iPhone, previewed a new version of the app over the summer with several features that take advantage of iOS 8. The iPhone throttling controversy isn’t over yet. In addition to DOJ and SEC investigations and lawsuits in the US, the company has just been fined €10M ($11.4M) by the Italian government … Reuters reports that the fine was announced today – alongside one for Samsung. Consumers had complained that both companies were using software updates to deliberately degrade performance in an effort to push them into buying new devices. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was a box office smash, but is the sequel available to watch on Netflix, Hulu or Prime? The first Mamma Mia! film was released in 2008 and based on the West End musical of the same name, which was in turn inspired by the music of Swedish pop group ABBA. The musical rom-com boasted an ensemble cast that featured Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, and Christine Baranski and centers on a bride-to-be (Seyfried’s Sophie) who is about to get married on a Greek island....

A new trailer for Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit is officially released online. The film, which is based on the novel Caging Skies, is one of the more anticipated offerings of the fall due to the combination of premise and talent involved. It tells the story of Jojo Betzler, a Hitler youth who discovers his mother is secretly sheltering a Jewish girl in their home. Described as an “anti-hate satire,” Jojo Rabbit has already made headlines thanks to Waititi’s portrayal of Jojo’s imaginary friend, a fictionalized version of Adolf Hitler....

Colin Trevorrow has confirmed the official title for Jurassic World 3 - Jurassic World: Dominion - as filming starts. Five years after he brought the Jurassic Park franchise back to life with Jurassic World, Trevorrow is returning at the helm for the third and final entry in his sequel trilogy. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles from the previous two Jurassic World movies opposite original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in their iconic roles....

Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for Destin Daniel Cretton’s new film, Just Mercy. The upcoming drama is adapted from Bryan Stevenson’s memoir of the same name, documenting his experiences as a young attorney. Michael B. Jordan plays Stevenson in the film opposite Jamie Foxx as Walter McMillan, an Alabamian inmate who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for killing a teenaged girl, in spite of the ample evidence proving his innocence....

We told you a couple weeks back about Apple’s Reuse and Recycle program offering up to $200 in exchange for your iPhone 4. We also reported that the devices were going for even more on eBay and Gazelle. However, with today’s release of the iPhone 4S, it looks like those numbers are quickly starting to decrease. Gazelle has dropped their estimate down from approximately $250 to less than $200 for a mint 32GB model on AT&T (approximately $170 for Verizon), and NextWorth is still offering up $215 ($162 on Verizon) for the same model in perfect condition, but any cracks or bad scratches will leave you with around $115....

Early testing of an iPhone app developed to detect melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer – found an accuracy rate of around 85 percent. This is similar to that achieved by specialist dermatologists, and more accurate than examination by primary care physicians. Melanoma, usually caused by too much exposure to the sun, is responsible for around three-quarters of all skin cancer deaths. It’s dangerous because it can spread quickly if not caught at an early stage, but surgery has a high success rate if the condition is detected and treated soon after symptoms appear … The DermoScreen app was developed by University of Houston professor of engineering technology, George Zouridakis....

The first reviews of the iPhone XS and XS Max are out, and the story is incredibly consistent. While reviewers do note that the iPhone XS offers notably better sound than the X, and the camera improvements impressed many, the overwhelming view was that there’s little here to justify an upgrade from last year’s model unless you want that giant screen. If you currently own any of the older models, then the consensus view is that one of this year’s iPhones is a big upgrade – but don’t order one yet, because the iPhone XR offers most of the benefits at a significantly lower price …...

Update: Galway Independent (via Business Insider) reports that a hearing date has now been set, for Tuesday 24th May. The venue has not yet been confirmed. Apple’s plan to build one of the world’s largest data centers in Ireland hit a stumbling block earlier this month when local residents filed objections. The planning body, An Bord Pleanála, said that it would be pushing back its decision from February to May in order to consider those objections....
