The Wrap reports that former showrunner/series creator Carlton Cuse left Jack Ryan after two seasons so that he could make Netflix’s Locke and Key. That’s when Scheuring, a celebrated writer/producer, agreed to come aboard the show for its third season. The first season followed CIA analyst Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) as he sniffed out a terrorist gaining power through financial savviness. In the upcoming second season, Ryan’s adventures take him to Venezuela, where he discovers that the country is attempting to acquire nuclear weapons....

Congratulations to Kathy Griffin, who had a New Year’s wedding with legend Lily Tomlin serving as the officiant. The ginger comedienne married longtime love Randy Bick in an intimate ceremony on New Years Day, kicking off the new decade. Griffin chronicled the experience in a series of tweets and video clips. The May/December couple (she’s 18 years his senior) began dating in 2011 after meeting during a food and wine festival....

DigiTimes reports that Apple’s share of the tablet market in Taiwan has dipped from 60 percent in May to 50 percent in June. Don’t worry, the decline is attributed to an demand and supply imbalance rather than competitive pressure from other tablet vendors. Of the 35,000 tablet PCs that shipped in the 22 million people market of Taiwan during June, iPad accounted for 50 percent of the volume and the other half was split between Asustek, Acer, ViewSonic and HTC....

A new supply chain report from Digitimes claims Apple is shifting iPhone 8 production up earlier than usual for the company. The report also continues to push the rumor that Apple is planning iris scanning technology in the next flagship iPhone. While earlier than usual production was separately reported earlier this week, a Fast Company piece two days ago cited an anonymous source in saying that the iPhone 8 will likely still launch around the usual September timeframe....

The product developed in Facebook’s Seattle-based engineering center can obviously be anything from a new site feature or a new mobile application, but with multiple iOS-related products coming very soon, we’re thinking this awesome launch might be their long-awaited iPad application. Facebook has reportedly been readying a native iPad application for sometime now and according to a report from two weeks ago, the application is essentially complete and is undergoing final testing....

This weekend, developer Loren Brichter released a website claiming that Google Chrome for Mac — or more specifically its auto-update mechanism — was causing the WindowServer process on macOS to constantly have high CPU usage, damaging the performance of macOS, even on high-end machines. The website includes information on how to completely get rid of Chrome and its updater from your Mac to get your performance back, and went as far as calling it “malware” (that word has since been removed)....

Apple recently confirmed that it’s opening its first Apple Store in Belgium, in the capital Brussels. Job listings spotted by Dutch site iCulture suggest that a second Belgian store will follow, in Antwerp. One suggested location has been the former Trade Fair building (above), due to be refurbished as a Marriott hotel with possible retail space beneath. According to the job descriptions, Apple is looking for staff in the “province of Antwerp....

Darkseid graces a Justice League Snyder Cut poster shared by Zack Snyder himself. Kicking off Warner Bros’ comic book movie franchise via 2013’s Man of Steel with Henry Cavill, Snyder was the primary architect of the DCEU for quite a while. In 2016, he introduced Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and was on track to spearhead the universe’s first culminating movie in 2018.
