Robogaia Industries is using Kickstarter to seek funding for a product called Kalt, an infrared sensor that plugs into an iPhone’s headphone jack and turns the smartphone into a precise, non-contact thermometer. The Cleveland-based company is looking to raise $10,000 over the next three weeks to cover development and manufacturing costs. The palm-sized Kalt sensor reads the infrared energy that an object omits and converts it into readable temperatures in Fahrenheit, Celsius or Kelvin....

A new investor note published today by analysts at Barclays Research says that the iPhone 13 models coming later this year will “likely” have under-screen Touch ID support. The report also corroborates other details about the iPhone 13, including that the devices will feature a smaller notch. Perhaps most interestingly, the analysts say the iPhone 13 will feature support for in-screen Touch ID, citing “extensive industry conversations.” This comes as both Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal have reported that in-screen Touch ID is something in testing for the iPhone 13....

Over the weekend, we saw a purported iPhone 8 mold compared to molds of the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, offering a look at how the iPhone 8’s bezel-less design will lend itself to a smaller form factor. Now, Japanese blog Macotakara has gotten its hands on a purported iPhone 8 case and compared it side-by-side to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.. The blog says that the case first appeared on Chinese shopping website Alibaba, claiming to be an iPhone 8 case....

According to Bloomberg, the International Trade Commission will reevaluate its Sept. 14 ruling that Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple did not infringe on any Samsung patents with its iOS devices. As many of you may remember, Samsung unsuccessfully tried to earn damages and block Apple’s iOS devices…for a second time. The first time was a separate case with the California court where Apple not only came out not guilty but also was victorious in its damage claims....

Update: Apple says all service interruptions have been resolved. Apple has acknowledged the outage on its System Status webpage, showing that it the issues began around 3:30PM ET and are not yet resolved. Apple says that “some users are affected by the issue.” According to affected users, the App Store and iTunes Store are presenting an error that reads “Service Unavailable” across multiple devices. We’ll keep tracking the outage and update this post when it appears to be resolved....

A new Jessica Jones season 3 teaser poster was revealed earlier today, and it’s confirmed the third and final season will be coming soon to viewers. The second season of the Netflix/Marvel series premiered on March 8, 2018, and more than a year later, the anticipation could not be any higher for season 3. Lead actress Krysten Ritter’s performance as the titular character has been well-received all around. Unfortunately, this did not stop Netflix from cancelling Jessica Jones after season 3, along with the rest of the streaming service’s MCU shows, following the ending of their original deal (which concluded with The Defenders)....

The incident was allegedly caused by an argument over steroid use. Spivey was best known for his four-year role as a bailiff on Justice For All with Judge Cristina Perez, a courtroom reality show that aired from 2012 to 2016. Although he did play the part for TV, in reality, Spivey also served as a deputy with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston since 1998....

Despite an abundance of juicy reveals, there’s still plenty that we don’t know about the content of the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League. In the aftermath of the tragic loss of his daughter, Zack Snyder stepped away from directing duties on Justice League, with Joss Whedon being brought in to oversee reshoots. Though the official stance of Warner Bros. was that these were the normal pickups that most major blockbusters undergo, the version of Justice League released into theaters proved to be a radical departure from Snyder’s vision for the film....

When Phil Schiller introduced the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c last September at Apple’s HQ, the SVP of Worldwide Marketing proclaimed that Apple would officially partner with over 270 carriers in 100 countries by the year’s end to distribute the iPhone to customers. The latest report from the US Environmental Working Group (EWG) contains radiation rankings for top brand mobile phones, including those from Motorola, BlackBerry and iPhone. And the report makes grim reading for RIM, with handsets from that firm joining those from Motorola and T-Mobile (US) in the top ten worst phones in terms of radiation exposure. To be fair, all models tested are within current international limits, but the EWG warns that consumers should try to buy phones with the lowest level of radiation emission, to be on the safe side....
