Alex Trebek, famed host of Jeopardy!, has released a video with an update after his cancer diagnosis. Taped on the final day of Jeopardy!’s 35th season, the king of America’s favorite quiz show offered a message of hope. Created by Merv Griffin, the trivia show has become a household staple and most recognized game show of all time. A majority of the show’s success can be attributed to Trebek. Data from Localytics shows that the iPhone 5s appears to be outselling the iPhone 5c by a factor of 3.4. As we noted earlier today, Apple has discontinued its iPod nano and iPod shuffle. The company has also simplified and updated its pricing on the current iPod touch, bringing pricing down by up to $100. As part of the move, Apple is making the 32GB and 128GB models the only options and reducing prices in the process. Previously Apple offered 16, 32, 64, and 128GB options for the iPod touch with pricing at $199, $249, $299, and $399, respectively....

The update bumps the app to version 3.1 and includes a handful of new features, enhancements, and under-the-hood fixes. For one, posts made in iTunes U can now include images. Loss-making Apple screen supplier Japan Display has reportedly been saved by a $723M bailout by a group of investors from China and Taiwan … Japan Display has been struggling due to its very late decision to diversify from LCD panels into OLED ones. It was a particular blow to the company when Apple made its switch to OLED with the iPhone X. Japan Display knows that it moving into OLED is now overdue, but has been struggling to fund the capital costs....

. According to Macotakara, the next generation iPad will be thicker and therefore won’t be compatible with all current iPad 2 cases. That however won’t affect Apple’s Smart Covers which only cover the front. They believe that the front screen will be the same as the other iPads, with the same types of corners and bezel as well.
